We can’t believe that this month we remembered the 10th anniversary of 9/11. It was different watching the coverage around the world and in the US here, feeling that we should be in the US for this historic day. While we missed remembering this day in the US, our eyes were opened to see how 9/11 affected the entire world, with families from 77 different nations being affected as their loved ones perished. It also helped us see the reality of how so much that goes on in the US affects every nation in the world.
New Movement Launched
We are excited to report that God has opened the doors officially at Victoria University at Footscray to start a new Student Life movement! We are so excited to be a part of this, and to have many staff on our team having the experience to successfully launch at a new campus and see such great fruit! Right now, we have students signing up on interest sheets which will be turned into the Student Affairs office, making us an official club on campus. There are two students who will be coached by someone on our team and will be committing to walking with Jesus and leading the movement at Vic Uni. We are excited that our scope has reached beyond the city centre and that God has opened this door!! Please pray for Jaynelle and David as they step into this position of leadership for them to walk with Jesus and see the great influence they can have on campus for the gospel!
In other ministry news, we had our men’s and women’s retreats in the last month and they were great! Several women from the City Centre unis retreated to a great farm called “Matilda” for the weekend and the guys headed up to Bonnie Doon for a weekend to learn about being authentic men.
Please keep praying for our team – as we all are looking forward to what’s next, it can be discouraging and exhausting to not feel motivated to stay engaged where we are.
On the family front…
As you can see, our family is growing up and out! Hannah has had a growth spurt and suddenly has grown out of her clothes! She’s doing really well communicating with us about her needs and what she’s thinking. It’s so fun to watch her share her heart and talk about what is going on in her life. We have told her that we’re moving back to Pittsburgh (in just 2 months!) and she gets excited for the Christmas, snow and sledding. She’s constantly hugging and talking to Beppo (our nickname for the baby – it means God’s gift), so we’re thinking she’s excited to be a big sister!
This pregnancy is going by much faster and is really different! The biggest adjustments I feel I’m going through are being tired because I’m interacting with and running around with a toddler while my body is doing this great work of making a baby & craving food that I just can’t get in Australia! I can’t wait until it’s just a little easier to get pickles and crackers!
We are so glad we get to share this journey of life with Jesus and with you!
